As an Orchard Community Trust school, we are relentless in our approach to ensure children achieve their best by the time they move to the next phase in their education. However, as a trust we wanted to commit to more.
We want our children to have, and remember, amazing experiences and opportunities that many may otherwise not get. Our goal is to nurture curiosity, develop understanding of our world and provide long lasting positive memories.
To ensure we provide this to all of our children, we have developed our Orchard Community Trust Adventures. These are 11 experiences for all of our primary school pupils and 16 experiences for our special school pupils.
5 of these experiences are common across the Trust. These are:
A zoo visit
A theatre visit
A beach visit
Seed to supper (growing our own food for a family meal)
3 good deeds in 3 days (pupils deciding on 3 activities to help their community).
The remaining 6 (or 11 for special schools) activities are decided individually by each school. At Kemball School these are:
- build a den
- Visit a farm
- Go on a barefoot walk
- Interact with other OCT schools
- Go on a bike ride
- Create some wild art
- Hold a creature
- Visit a museum
- Walk through a forest
- Visit a castle
- Animal therapy
We will be documenting these experiences through the pupils ROA(Record of Achievement). This is so alongside progress overtime we will also see pupils encounters with these mini adventures and give the pupils a source of reflection.
